Children are inquisitive and enthusiastic to learn new things. As present generation is more social media friendly and news and information’s flowing in social media make a huge impact on children. Keeping this thought CWCN organized three days Journalism and communication training for children to deliver the value and importance of news and information. 11 Children who had desire to write, desire to be known, desire to influence for good, desire for knowledge were selected for this training among many others.

For children knowledge about news, communication and journalism was fun and also very effective. Topics covered during three days trainings were  Introduction to journalism and communication, child journalism, role of child journalist, what is news and its types, how to make news ,sources of news, wall magazine and it’s setting, what is interview how to do it, radio journalism and more others to mention. Children learned the purpose of journalism is that it provide information to public and how right and wrong information makes a great difference in a society and impact the people’s mind. Children were very enthusiastic during the training and trainer expected that children learned honestly and training was useful for them in every aspect of life.

Children also learned that news is that part of communication that keeps us informed of the changing events, issues, and characters in the world outside. Though it may be interesting or even entertaining, the foremost value of news is as a utility to empower the informed. The purpose of joyoung journalisturnalism is thus to provide public with the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their lives, their communities, their societies, and their governments.

For children there are many reason for becoming a journalist and many type of journalists to become and it is a career with many challenges and rewards. They also realized that that Journalists must have an interest in world around them, love language, alert mind, be friendly, reliable and polite to be a successful journalist and good communicator.
