The 26th Anniversary of UNCRC was celebrated by week long events at Moradabad, India joined by SARD under the Partage Program with 5 events were organized during the week (14 Nov 2015 to 20 Nov 2015).

Picture5Sport Event:On 14th November a sports event was organized at project area. Around 700 children from government, private and community schools participated in the event.  Drawing competitions like Mehendi (Heena) competition (Designing on hand with grind herbs) and Rangoli competition (Designs on floors with colors) based on the theme of “My Dream Classroom” were organized for adolescents and children of one target area.

Rally:Two rally’s were organized at both of our target areas (Fakeerpura slum and Sabjipur village) addressing education and the right to be protected. Children themselves advocated for their rights and showed a great enthusiasm. They encouraged community members, local leaders and influencers to join them in the rally. Approximately 350 people walked along with the children and spread the messages on “Rights of the Child”.

Street Play:The awareness regarding rights of children protection and education of the childrenPicture4 was spread among the people in form of a street play. Three acts of the play were executed regarding health and education issues of children. Around 500 people including children were approached by the play. Their attention towards protection issues was also called by a play of the story of a pregnant woman, who advocated for birth registration, immunization and education. Children and community members joyfully participated in the program.

Puppet show:A very popular form of folk art in India is still the puppet show which is displayed with the help of thread and toys. It’s purpose is to make the community aware of simple basic things through the play. It is a mixture of knowledge and entertainment. The messages regarding girl child education, health and protection were performed and communicated in form of dance and drama. Around 390 children and community members were eager to see the show.

The great quiz on child right & protection program:A inter school quiz event was organized in the urban area schools of Moradabad city. A three level competition was designed in which a questionnaire, focused on child rights protection education, health & hygiene and convention, was distributed. 650 students of 20 schools participated in elementary level quiz competition at their respective schools. The event was affluent by the presence of City Commissioner, Child Welfare Committee Team, District Child Protection Unit members and other District officials, who encouraged students, teachers and community based members by their promoting words on child rights and convention.Picture1 Picture2
