On the auspicious occasion of the 26th Convention on the Rights of The Child (Universal Children’s Day) and 13th Anniversary of CWCN; CWCN organized a round table interaction event on 20th November, 2015 with government stakeholders, civil society representatives and national level NGO’s on a contemporary legal document provisions, procedure, its limitations and solutions. On a basic foundation of protecting ‘The Rights to Identity’, as rectified in CRC the discussion was targeted to find out the solutions, address policies difficulties and commitment from directly involved stakeholders. The discussion session was facilitated by Mr. Tarak Dhital-Executive Director of Central Child Welfare Board, Mr. Bhakta Bahadur Bista- Deputy Superintendent of Police Administration from National Center for Children at Risk, Mr. Khil Pd. Subedi-Department officer from Department of Civil Registration and Ms. Sheela Sapkota, a department officer from District Administration office. Event started with the sharing of Mr. Sanphasit Koompraphant statement on the International Child Right’s Day. Further CWCN presented difficult cases of children (as a metaphoric cases faced by majority of Children and Youths in Nepal) who were deprived of legal identity due to various reasons and complexities in process of government of Nepal. The whole discussion was focused on the challenges of identity and through discussion with every stakeholder’s on these difficulties faced by children and youths today solutions were derived and agreed to continue working with every stakeholders on the same to have a certain process flow to help every child to get their rights on identity.
